The Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has expressed his unhappiness with the way and manner the embattled Member of Parliament for Dome-Kawbenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has treated him as leader of the House.
According to him, Ms Safo has chosen not to respond to his messages over her long absence from the proceedings of Parliament.
He said messages sent through her Personal Assistant (PA), Nana Dubeng have also not been responded to by the Minister.
He said when the PA was questioned about his boss’ inability to respond to messages, he replied by saying he did what leadership asked him to do.
It is amazing how the MP has elected not to respond to the messages but responded to a message sent through the same PA by an Accra-based radio station for an interview. The radio station was successful in having the MP speak to them to say she, has not been invited to appear before the Privileges Committee of Parliament for absenting herself from 15 sittings of Parliament, the majority leader bemoaned.
He accused Mr Safo of being selective in her responses adding that she deliberately elected not to respond to the leadership of the House.
In the past three months as leader of the House, I have on countless occasions sent messages to the MP without receiving any response, he noted.
The Majority Leader who is also the MP for Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region expressed his displeasure about the actions of the embattled MP while commenting on the decision by the Privileges Committee to publish the MP’s invitation to appear before it in the dailies.
According to him, it is the right path to take as the MP has elected not to respond to calls, and messages among others.
Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu made the comment on Accra-based Neat FM.
