Amin Adam outdoors electoral area support program; supports each with 10k

The Member of Parliament for Karaga constituency, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has outdoor a Karaga Constituency Electoral Area Development Program at Karaga with an opening support to 10 Assembly members out of the existing 33 electoral areas in the constituency.

Each electoral area shall receive 10,000 Ghana cedis to help address challenges facing their various constituencies, ten electoral areas have received their supported of 10,000 Ghana Cedis each.

According to Mr Adam, this is to help the assembly members to support their various electoral areas and developmental needs. The electoral areas each is receiving the budgeted program of about 10,000 Ghana each from the MP’s share of the district assembly common fund.

He acknowledged, though he is gradually improving the lives of the people through the building of schools, health centers, providing potable water, roads, etc. There are still challenges in these areas that the Assembly Members if empowered financially, can help address.

There are some small small problems in these areas that the people expect the Assembly Members to address but it’s been difficult for Assembly Members. For instance in cases like the maintenance of a borehole, fixing of a leakage of a school roof among others they would look up to them to address but because they don’t have the resources,  everything is pushed back to  the MP but if they have these monies they can always fall on it anytime challenges arise, he said.

Some of initial beneficiaries of the ‘Karaga Constituency Electoral Area Development Program‘ are; Kpataribogu, Yamo Karaga, Binduli, Gunaayili Bagli, Zandua among others.

The Presiding member on behalf of his colleagues expressed gratitude to the MP, stating that it’s the first of its kind in the existence of the District and Northern region. He also used the opportunity to advice his colleagues to ensure the support the MP gave truly gets to the people so to encourage him to do more.

After writing to the MP’s office the budgets are approved and a 10,000 Ghana cedi budget allocated to each electoral area. The money is put under the care of the Public Works of the Assembly and the DCE will then supervise the execution of these works, he said.

The Deputy Energy minister, also made a presentation of some assorted medical items to the District Health directorate of Karaga for onward distribution to some health centers within the constituency. The items included 15 hospital beds, 15 mattresses, 50 bed sheets, 10 sets of office furniture and 70 anti-snake venom serum. This he believes will help ameliorate some health challenges and support the delivery quality health service to the area.
