“Arteta Stands Firm: Arsenal Manager Refuses to Back Down on VAR Criticism After Controversial Match”

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, remains steadfast in his criticism of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) following their match in week 11 of the Premier League against Newcastle. Arteta strongly denounced the VAR decision not to disallow Anthony Gordon’s goal as “disgraceful” and “embarrassing.” He reiterated his commitment to defending his club and players, emphasizing that it is his duty.

Despite a thorough triple VAR check that failed to provide conclusive evidence for critical decisions during the game, Arteta is resolute in his stance. In a statement, Arsenal officially called upon the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) to urgently address officiating standards, highlighting the club’s concerns about the consistency and accuracy of VAR decisions.

Arteta, speaking on Sunday, expressed no regrets about his outspoken comments, underlining his dedication to ensuring fairness and integrity in the game and defending his team’s interests.
