Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is questioning why the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should commit the mistake of presenting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as main candidate for the 2024 Presidential elections.

Vice President Bawumia is tipped by many party supporters to lead the NPP into the 2024 general elections following his immerse contribution towards the 2016 and 2020 general elections respectively.

Speaking on Suncity Morning Drive, Hon Kennedy Agyapong thinks otherwise, he believes serving as Vice President for 8 straight years and still wants to be president thereof will not succeed.

Bring Vice President Dr Bawumia I will beat him hands down. He’s done his best but the 8yrs in gov’t, anybody who has been Vice President for 8 years and still wants to be president straight off, only 3% in the world go on to win the election why would NPP want to risk like that? Kennedy Agyapong ask.

The vociferous leading member of the NPP is aspiring to be his party’s presidential candidate for the the 2024 general elections.

Hon Kennedy Agyapong is one of many who have openly expressed interest to contest the NPP’s internal presidential primaries.

Other notable names include; Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, Former MP for Essikado-Ketan and Attorney General of Ghana, Hon Joe Ghartey, Trade Minister Hon Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten amongst others.

The NPP are through with it’s branch, constituency and Regional elections respectively. Their National elections is expected soon followed by their parliamentary primaries before the presidential primaries.
