Bawumia celebrates 60th birthday with orphans at Kumasi Children’s Home

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia marked his 60th birthday, commencing the day with Muslim and Christian prayers.

Following the morning prayers, he dedicated the day to spending time with the children at Kumasi Children’s Home, where he also made a generous donation.

In a heartfelt birthday message, his wife, Samira Bawumia, praised him as a loving husband and father, recognising his unwavering dedication to both his family and the nation’s service.

Dr. Bawumia assumed the role of Vice President of the Republic of Ghana on January 7, 2017. Concurrently, he also held the position of Chairman of the Economic Management Team. Prior to his vice presidency, he served as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

Aside from his political career, Vice-President Bawumia is recognised for his philanthropic endeavours, notably as a patron of Lepers Aid Ghana and a cured lepers advocate, providing consistent support to them through various donations over the years.

As Ghana prepares for the 2024 general elections, Dr. Bawumia is actively contesting to become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party.
