Ghana’s U20 side the Black satellites were stunned in their group opener against rivals Nigeria losing 2-0 at the on going Wafu zone B U20 championship in Niamey Niger. A goal in each half condemned the satellites to an opening day defeat against the flying eagles of Nigeria at the stade de General-seyni-Kountche.
The win takes Nigeria top of the group with 3 points . Coach Abdul Karim Zito and his men have it all to do in their last group B fixture against Burkina Faso on Saturday May 14, and only a victory will send the satellite through to the next phase of the competition and keep their hopes of a title defense alive.
Abdul Karim Zito believes a combination of limited time for acclimatization and a lack of proper preparation ahead of the competition put the team in a position of second best to the flying Eagles but remains confident the team will bounce back on Saturday.
