Manchester United have finalized the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea for a reported £50 million, bringing in a young, technically gifted addition as the club looks to bolster midfield depth. The 20-year-old has committed to Old Trafford until the summer of 2031, with an option for a further 12 months.
Santos arrives with strong pedigree. A product of Brazilian youth systems, he impressed during spells in Europe with his ball progression, vision and ability to play between the lines. United’s recruitment team believe he offers tactical flexibility, capable of operating in a deeper build-up role or stepping into more advanced positions, which fits manager Michael Carrick’s demand for adaptable midfielders who can link defence and attack.
The length of the contract signals United’s long-term planning. The deal provides stability for the player while giving the club time to integrate him into the squad without immediate pressure to deliver. For Chelsea, the reported fee represents a sizeable return on a promising talent as they continue their squad overhaul.
