Reigning champions the University for Development Studies (UDS) will take on Guinea's Université Julius Nyerere de Kankan in the final of the 12th All Africa University Games football competition in Cairo later today, with a chance to make history for Ghanaian university football.
UDS booked their place in the showpiece with an emphatic 4-0 win over Delta University in the semi-finals, continuing a dominant run through this year's tournament.
Victory in the final would make the Tamale-based institution the first Ghanaian university to win the All Africa University Games football title in consecutive editions, a landmark achievement for the country's university sports scene.
UDS arrive at the final on the back of a superb 2025 campaign, in which they claimed the All Africa University Games title before going on to add the FISU World University Championship crown, capping an outstanding year for Ghanaian university football.
They will now look to defend their continental title against a Université Julius Nyerere de Kankan side determined to deny them back-to-back glory.
Kick-off is scheduled for 12 noon in Cairo, with UDS chasing another significant chapter in a rapidly growing legacy.
