Court adjourns Ashantigold sc-gfa case to October 25

The human rights division of the Accra high court has adjourned the contempt case brought against the Ghana football association by Ashanti gold sporting club to October 25.

The adjournment follows the directive from judge, justice Nicholas Agbodakpi for all members of the executive council of the GFA to individually respond to the contempt case brought before the court than do so as a collective.

Ashanti gold cited the executive council of the FA for contempt, claiming the football governing body ignored an interlocutory injunction placed on the start of the 22/23 betpawa premier league.

The obuasi based club who were demoted at the back end of last season following their involvement in a match of convenience on the final match day of the 21/22 Ghana premier league season at home to Inter Allies, are seeking to have the decision of the Ghana football association over turned.

The club is thus seeking imprisonment for the GFA executive council members for what they say is a disregard for the dignity, respect and authority of the court.
