Ghanaian-American soldier dies in altercation with fellow soldier, family suspects cover-up


A US-based Ghanaian-American family mourns the loss of their son who died in strange circumstances on a military base in Alabama.

The heartbreaking news left the families and close friends of the deceased soldier are traumatized and shocked.

According to the military, a 21-year-old soldier Pvt. Abdul-Nafsu Latifu was killed in an “argument with another soldier” at the Alabama Army Garrison in Fort Rucker, where he was training to become an air traffic controller for the Army.


A source close to the family revealed that news of his death was published on a local Alabama website at 11 a.m.


At 30:30 PM CST, his next of kin received a formal call four hours after his death has been reported in the news from the army to report that he was hospitalized and in critical condition.

Pvt. Abdul N. Latif lived in New York before enlisting in the U.S. Army.

He is described as very intelligent and respectful by all who have met him.

When his relatives, friends and neighbors visit his home in New York to mourn alongside his family, they are flooded with praise and questions.
