GOVERNEMT PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR NATIONAL SIDES AHEAD OF UPCOMING COMPETITIONS

Finance minister Ken Ofori Atta while delivering his mid-year budget review on the floor of parliament on Monday July 25, 2022, reiterated governments commitment to supporting the various national teams ahead of their up-coming competitions.

Ghana is set to participate in the commonwealth games, the U-20 women’s world cup and the FIFA world cup. The under 20 women’s national team, the black princesses have been drawn in group D along with the USA, Netherlands, and Japan in the 2022 U-20 women’s world cup to be held in Costa Rica.

whiles the black stars have been drawn in Group H of the 2022 Fifa world cup alongside, Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea. speaking on the floor of parliament during his delivery of the 2022 mid-year budget review, finance minister Ken Ofori Atta empathized that success for these is a priority target for government. “Government will ensure that adequate preparation is made to facilitate the astounding performances by these teams and we encourage Ghanaians to continue to remember them in prayer and offer them our support.”

The 2022 Commonwealth is scheduled for July 28 – August 8, 2022, the 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup kicks off from August 10 – August 28 and the 2022 World Cup takes place from November 21 to December 18.
