A National Organizer hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Henry Osei Akoto has been left burning with fury after hearing comments made by the president of the republic, Nana Akufo Addo with which he sought to politically project the aspirations of his protégé, Eugene Arhin; the director of communications at the presidency.
President Akufo Addo as part of his two days official visit to the central region made utterances at a sod-cutting event to the effect that, Mr. Arhin was portrayed as the Messiah of the Awutu Senya West constituency who is hell-bent on realizing developmental projects to the benefit of the constituency.
Information abounds from credible sources on the internet tells the story of how Eugene Arhin is nurturing an unquenchable desire to contest the Awutu Senya West parliamentary seat in the next general elections, thus, many have conceived the president’s comments as both promulgation and endorsement of his director of communications’ parliamentary ambition.
But the president’s comments as per the candid opinion of Mr. Akoto is the height of irresponsible leadership and the deepest depth of apathy on the part of the president.
In his thought, the compounding economic woes into which the masses languish should have been of particular concern to the president, but to his dismay, such a pertinent issue has been overlooked by the leader of the government, for his selfish and trivial interest of winning the 2024 elections.
Mr. Osei Akoto has judged the conduct of the president as a mark of sadism which is heartbreaking and wrecks the hopes of the citizenry.
Commenting on this development on Twitter, the 2020 NDC parliamentary candidate for the Oforikrom constituency described the president as a failure and his vice, as a garrulous economist who is both cluelessly watching over a near-crushing economy.
The only thing Akufo-Addo cares about is the next elections. We are in 2022 with a wailing economy being supervised by his failing self and his handicapped talkative vice president but the president drove to Awutu Senya West to campaign for Eugene Arhin. Disheartening to the Ghanaian! He posted on his Twitter handle.
He further stressed that the only thing that fascinates and is of prime essence in the face of the president is election-winning tactics and not ways of taming the hardships in the Ghanaian economy to save the lives of his suffering countrymen.
