Hearts of Oak Appoints Abdul Rahim Bashiru as Interim Head Coach Following Martin Koopman’s Departure

Ghana Premier League powerhouse, Hearts of Oak, has officially named assistant coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru as the interim head coach, succeeding Martin Koopman, who confirmed his exit on Monday. The former Legon Cities assistant coach steps into the role immediately, as announced in a statement on the club’s website.

The statement reads, “The Board of Accra Hearts of Oak has appointed the club’s assistant coach, Abdul Rahim Bashiru, as the acting head coach. His appointment takes immediate effect.” Prior to the appointment, Coach Bashiru engaged in constructive discussions with the management, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledging to contribute to the team’s improvement. The management, in turn, assured Bashiru of their unwavering support.

Bashiru’s inaugural task will be guiding Hearts of Oak in a match against Accra Lions on Tuesday, 21st November 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium, marking the team’s 11th game in 23/24 Ghana Premier League season.
