I prefer to die than live in Ghana with LGBTQI legalised – Bagbin

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has made another audacious statement backing the anti-gay bill currently laid in Parliament. He said the bill will be passed in this meeting of the House.

Already, some Members of Parliament (MPs) have toured Europe and the Americas to consider all opinions before the anticipated passage.

Speaker Bagbin says he will not be part of any generation that will legalise the activities of homosexuals and will prefer to die rather than live if that happens.

“I am a Catholic and we believe in procreation,” he stressed.

The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill is at the consideration stage in the current Parliament.

It was proposed by some eight MPs of both the Majority and Minority caucuses. Ningo-Prampram MP Sam Nartey George led the charge to have the bill passed.

Interacting with journalists in Tamale over the weekend, Speaker Bagbin said the West, which is championing the rights of homosexuals, is already facing the negative repercussions.

He added that Greece is already gone all because of LGBTQ+.
