I’ll probe, handsomely compensate families of 8 voters killed in 2020 polls ~ Mahama decries Akufo-Addo’s apathy toward victims

Former President John Mahama has promised to compensate the families who lost relatives in the 2020 elections should he win the next polls.

“Eight persons died during the 2020 general elections,” Mr Mahama recalled, noting: “Up till now, our President [Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo] has not sent his condolences to the deceased families.”

“God willing when we win the 2024 general elections, we will surely investigate this matter,” he promised when he addressed branch and constituency executives of both Lower West Akyem and Upper West Akyem constituencies at Asamankese to end his 3-day tour of the Eastern Region.

“Parents who lost their children will handsomely be compensated,” Mr Mahama said.

“We know we cannot exchange money for human beings but this will serve as a consolation to them,” Mr Mahama indicated.
