I’m not from North, but I’ve employed over 1,000 Northerners in my company ~ Ken Agyapong

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has disclosed that he has appointed more Northerners in his companies than some Northern politicians tagging him as anti-north.

He said this during an exclusive interview with radio Tamale’s Robicon Mornahson yesterday Saturday, October 21 on the station’s political talk show dubbed – “Boot 4 Boot”.

“Believe in me, look. I am telling you today. Out of the 7, 158 workers I have employed, 1, 017 are northerners. How many politicians in the five northern regions who are playing tribal politics have done that for the youth?”, the NPP firebrand asked.

“Even this one. At least I came with 9 northerners in my team. And I don’t treat them like anything. Like their brothers will take employ them and pay them cheaply”, Kennedy Agyapong told the host.

According to him, the comments by the northern politicians that they come from a “poor zone” of the country is something that he will entreat the people not to listen to because it is a “lie”.

Mr Agyapong believed the country has what is described as “rich arable land”, and for that matter, it is a lack of creativity to use what God has blessed them with to change the fortune of the part of Ghana.

There have been arguments about the comments of Kennedy Agyapong calling on NPP delegates to elect him instead of the vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who is a Northerner.

Many say Mr Agyapong’s statement was anti-North, and for that, he doesn’t like Northerners, describing him as a tribal bigot who is not fit to lead the NPP in the coming general elections.

But in his tour of the northern region, the NPP flagbearer hopeful, the Assin Central Constituency MP told the people that what he has done for northerners, no northern politician has done before.
