MTN-Ghana donates to Gbewaa palace ahead of 2023 Damba festival celebrations

Mobile Telecommunication Network Ghana (MTN) has reignited its commitment to this year’s Damba festival celebrations with a donation to support the Dagbang traditional council through the overlord, Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II at the Gbewaa palace.

According to MTN-Ghana, it is of great pleasure to lend support and appreciation to people of the Dagbon Traditional area as they celebrate the 2023 Damba festival in gratitude for God’s blessings and guidance.

Over the years, MTN has placed special importance on the things that matter to the people of Ghana, and prominent among these is the celebration of festivals.

Festivals reveal a lot about the Ghanaian society and are considered an integral part of Ghanaian culture.

As a result, MTN has made it a duty to support many traditional authorities each year across the country and to keep alive the values and principles that identifies all as Africans.

In addition to the presentation is a cheque of GH¢15,000, airtime worth GH¢ 1,000 and assorted drinks and water, MTN-Ghana further pleged its support for the traditional authorities to organize the Inter-community Gala, Grand Durbar and some social activities throughout the festive period.

We hope our support in these areas will help in enriching the activities earmarked for this year’s Damba celebration, the group said.

In other to provide distinct customer experience during the celebration, MTN has also set up experience centers at vantage points to provide customers with an enhanced customer experience whilst they celebrate the festival.

As we all know, MTN is an African company, and we believe in African values and the African heritage.

Speaking at the Gbewaa palace in Yendi, October 2, team leader for MTN Ghana, Kwame Agude, emphasized that MTN as an African company that believes in African values and heritage, on the occasion of Damba celebrations can only wish the chiefs and people of Dagbon long life, peace and prosperity.

The group intimated that the move is to deepen the long standing relationship with the kingdom, and festivals are also part of the good times that bring the people together.

Expressing his gratitude for the kind gesture and support for MTN, the Yaa Naa, pleged his full support and blessings to the operations of the company in the region, while appealing to them not to hesitate in contacting the palace whenever the need arises.

To further appreciate customers of the brand and take critical feedback from them, MTN has also set aside a whole month dubbed Customer Service month.

There’s also available a Cyber security Awareness Month and MoMo fraud education all in the interest of its cherished customers.
