National Democratic Congress (NDC) Savannah Regional Secretary, Salisu Be-Awurbe has escaped an armed robbery attack along the Damongo-Sawla- Fulfulso stretch of road enroute Tamale.

The NDC regional secretary and his entire team narrowly escaped the robbery attack unhurt through the support of the police and community members. The incident occurred Sunday, April 24, 2022 along the Damongo – Sawla road about 3km to Fulfulso near Janikura in the Central Gonja District.

Mr. Be-Awuribe who was accompanied by some other party executives were returning from a handing over ceremony held at the Nursing Training College, for the party’s Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) wing in Damongo when the unfortunate incident happened.

The Police shot and killed one of the suspected robbers, a pump-action gun was also retrieved in the process. However the Police are still on manhunt for the rest of the robbers on the run.
