NPP: Why Hajia Rabi’s appointment as Deputy National Communications Director not surprising

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on August 26 this year announced its appointments of new officers into deputy national executive positions and directors of the party. The appointments, according to a release signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, are “pursuant to Articles 10 and 15 of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constitution.”

According to the release, the National Executive Committee (NEC) appointed various persons to serve as Directors of the Party at the National Secretariat in accordance with Article 10(7)(3) of the Party Constitution including a list for directorate of communications: Mr Richard Ahiagbah (Director), Mr Ernest Owusu Bempah (Deputy), Mr. Kamal Deen Abdulai (Deputy), Mrs Rabi Salifu (Deputy), Miss Jennifer Ofori Appiah (Deputy), George Krobea Asante (Deputy) and Dr. Asiedu Kokro.

Among the nineteen (19) deputy, national officers is a former Deputy Nasara Coordinator for the NPP in the Northern Region, Hajia Salifu Rabi, who has served the party in so many different capacities and now coming in as deputy communications director going into the 2024 elections, under the new Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah.

As Radio Tamale takes a carefully done background check on this young entrepreneur and what she brings to the table in her newest position within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and considering her immense experience in project planning and implementation, she comes with a stronger capacity which will help the party identify community (grassroots) strengths and weaknesses and her ability to develop relief initiatives perhaps brought her the feat.

The Zongo Youth Patriot’s patron was born and educated in the capital of the Northern Region, Tamale. She currently holds a master’s Degree in strategic management and leadership from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology-Kumasi.

I am a young woman with immense experience in project planning and implementation. Strong capacity to identify community strengths and weaknesses with the ability to develop relief initiatives.

Hajia Rabiatu until her appointment, was one of the few females in the regional communications team of the NPP in the Northern region and also a member of the National communication team.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in social change communication from the University for Development Studies-Nyankpala, North Region and a diploma degree in community development from the rural development college, Ejisu in the Ashanti region.

In the phase of Politics, the former Tescon treasure and a mother has served in various capacities within the New Patriotic party apart from her role as deputy regional Nasara Coordinator who helped in supervising the Wulensi Constituency primaries in the 2020 general election.

However, Hajia Rabi Salifu believes that the new executives of the NPP means a new era which will ensure the unity of the party as they lace their boots to fulfill the agenda break the 8 mantra, also she is confident that the party has a track record of implementing more policies to serve the needs of Ghanaians.

With the combination of our new party executives, going into 2024 elections, everybody will be involved and breaking the 8 as the party envisions will be easy, I believe NPP is the only party that can help Ghana improve.
