NRFA Increases Affiliation Fee, Emphasizes Punctuality, Unveils Talent Scouting Initiative for 2023/2024 Season

During the 2023 ordinary congress session of the Northern Regional Football Association, congress members unanimously agreed to increase the affiliation fee for the 2023/2024 season to Ghc 700.00, a Ghc 200.00 raise from the previous season’s Ghc 500.00.

The deadline for payment is set for December 31, 2023. A notable achievement was the high attendance, with 96 out of the total 110 congress members actively participating in the decision-making process, reflecting a robust level of engagement.

The RFA Chairman emphasized the importance of strict adherence to kick-off times, underscoring the necessity for punctuality and professionalism in scheduling and conducting games.

To identify emerging talents, the chairman disclosed a proactive initiative involving a team of five regional juvenile scouts who will make routine visits to various clubs in different districts to identify and nurture promising players.

On the issue of rowdyism, Alhaji Abu-Hassan Rhyzo advised club officials to refrain from attacking match officials physically or verbally. He insisted that those who believe they have genuine concerns should seek redress from the appropriate quarters.

As the region prepares for the 2023/2024 season, it was revealed that the league would be divided into eight zones, featuring a total of 61 clubs. The distribution of clubs within each zone was outlined, showcasing a diverse representation across the region. The 2023/2024 regional football league season is scheduled to kick start on December 2, 2023.
