Valerie Sawyer donates to GAR-NDC women’s wing

The National Democratic Congress’ women’s wing in the Greater Accra Region has held a workshop in Tema on Thursday, 14 December 2023, for the constituency women organisers and their deputies, intending to fortify them with campaign strategies ahead of the 2024 polls.

The NDC Greater Accra Women’s Wing working committee was inaugurated as part of the programme, to streamline its operations and strengthen its organisational structure.

The workshop hosted a cadre of resource people, including Dr Peter Otokunor and others who guided the constituency women organisers through an array of political party mobilisation strategies and campaign tactics, aimed at honing their skills for the 2024 polls.

Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the 2020 running mate of former President John Dramani Mahama; and Dr Valerie Sawyer, the former Deputy Chief of Staff in the Mahama administration, were among those who graced the event.

Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang encouraged the women organisers to dedicate themselves to securing victory for the NDC and Mr Mahama.

She articulated that the most assured pathway to alleviate the current challenges facing Ghanaians is by re-electing Mr Mahama.

Dr Sawyer, in her address, rallied the women organisers to foster unity and labour toward the triumph of the NDC and the success of their respective parliamentary candidates across the constituencies.

Dr Sawyer provided financial support of more than 150,000 cedis, alongside other forms of assistance to the women’s wing.

The Greater Accra women’s wing expressed appreciation to the former Chief of Staff.
