Yara Ghana Limited, a well-known supplier of fertilizers in Ghana has launched a new outstanding Programme dubbed “buy two get one free in Ghana”.
According to Mr. Danquah Addo-Yobo, Managing Director of Yara Ghana, the initiative is one of its outmost intent to touch millions of live across Ghana. He said despite the impact of COVID-19 and the Russian-Ukraine war, the programme will bring substantial benefits to the Ghanaian farmer. Mr. Danquah noted that Yara Ghana is committing USD 20 million to supply fertilizers to farmers, alongside working with smallholder farmers and partners to enable them have access to low-cost but high-quality crop nutrition in Ghana.

This is a unique programme design by the company to provide a number of incentives and support to its retailers and farmers across cereal growing areas in order to help them deliver value added service and also charge farmers to take advantage to make farming a business and sustain it by practicing right farming practices. We trust in our farmers and retailers and the vice vassal as partners and as a partnership, the initiative is to enhance food security and also help our retailors to remain in business in this difficult era, he noted.
Some of it he retailers and farmers expressed their endless gratitude and excitement to Yara Ghana for such an important initiative at such a crucial time when farmers needed their support the most. They also appealed for more of such initiatives in order to sustained farmers in Ghana. Mr. Mohammed Adam, Fusheini Osman, Abubakar Haruna among other farmers from Nyankpala and Kakpayili in Tolon district and Tamale Metropolis respectively in the northern region, said the initiative have really helped and eased pressure on them and gives easy access to fertilizers. They were therefore optimistic of recording bumper harvest through the initiative.

As part of the initiative, Yara provide close technical and commercial support as well as value field training and monitoring on the field for the farmers.
This is key in ensuring that the farmers and retailors network is aligned with Yara’s farmer centric approach that is focused on farmers – improving the yield and profitability of farmers.
“Yara does not just sell fertilizers but delivers solutions to the farmer. Our farmer centric approach therefore helps us to identify farmer needs and offer solutions to every situation and need of the farmer, that can grow their productivity and profitability. This essentially means being close and interactive with the farmer in order to identify their needs, the Managing Director further explained.
The launch of the programme included work shop sessions that were very engaging and insightful to support the programme to be a success. A dinner was held later in the day where certificates of membership were presented to the maiden partners on the Channel Partner Programme.
