Former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has commended the establishment of the newly commissioned Masjid Al Noor in Tamale, describing it as a transformational project that extends beyond its role as a place of worship.
Dr. Bawumia made the remarks after joining the National Chief Imam and other dignitaries at the commissioning ceremony of the multi-purpose mosque complex in Tamale on Friday.
The facility was built by Mohammed Amin Adam, the Member of Parliament for Karaga and former Minister of Finance. According to Dr. Bawumia, the complex has been designed to serve as a centre for learning, research, family guidance, and community development in addition to its religious functions.
He expressed confidence that the vision behind the project would be fully realised, noting that the facility has the potential to nurture and train thousands of young people to become responsible and productive citizens.
Dr. Bawumia said he hopes the mosque complex will produce future leaders and individuals whose contributions will positively impact not only Tamale but Ghana as a whole and beyond.
He also congratulated Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam for spearheading the initiative, describing the project as a significant investment in faith, education, and national development.
