President John Dramani Mahama has declared that Ghana is “open for business” as he rang the closing bell of the Nasdaq Stock Exchange in New York, United States.

The ceremony marked a symbolic moment in Ghana’s efforts to position itself as an attractive destination for global investment, following recent improvements in key economic indicators.

President Mahama’s participation in the closing-bell ceremony also provided an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s investment potential to the international business community.

Ahead of the ceremony, the iconic Nasdaq billboard in Times Square displayed President Mahama’s image alongside the bold message: “Ghana is Open for  Business.”

President Mahama, who was accompanied by officials and representatives of Ghana’s economic and investment sectors, received applause from Nasdaq officials after ringing the closing bell.Ghana Travel Guides

“Thank you,” President Mahama said following the applause.

The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, where the President has been engaging world leaders, international institutions and private-sector stakeholders.
