For its 2026 national executive elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will accept completed nomination forms over three days. Filing opens on Saturday, November 7, and closes on Monday, November 9.
In a Thursday, November 5 statement, the Congress Elections Committee set daily filing hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The venue is Jerry John Rawlings House, the party's national headquarters in Accra.
The national timetable follows the party's recent constituency polls and comes days before its regional executive elections on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, where Acting Director of Elections Mahdi Jibril has warned candidates not to induce delegates with money or gifts.
Several contenders have already declared bids for national offices ahead of the party's reorganisation for the 2028 general elections, including Steven Nhyira Odarteifio in the National Youth Organiser race, Suallah Anas Suwari for Deputy National Youth Organiser and Osman Iddrisu Banpuori for a seat on the National Executive Committee.
Under the committee's checklist, each aspirant must present:
- three copies of the completed nomination form
- a current curriculum vitae (CV), together with a written statement of the aspirant's vision
- academic certificates in their original form, plus relevant credentials to be checked
- a single photograph in postcard size, against a red background
- evidence that the required filing fee has been paid
- Payment of the required filing fee is a condition for submitting nomination papers. The committee will check submissions against the NDC Constitution and the 2026 Guidelines for the Conduct of the National Elections.
Vetting at the national headquarters in Accra is scheduled for November 11 and 12, 2026, falling on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. daily, with candidates scheduled by the office they seek.
Once vetting ends, candidates will draw for their places on the ballot. Participation is restricted to those the Vetting Committee has approved.
Meanwhile, the party's Deputy Director of Elections and IT, Rashid Tanko-Computer, has stated that credible allegations of vote-buying from the constituency executive elections will be investigated, as the party works with the Electoral Commission and the Ghana Police Service on election security.
