Over the years, he has built a reputation as a dedicated party activist, community advocate and influential grassroots organiser.
In addition to his political engagements, he currently serves in several high-level management and governance roles, including as a Board Member of Ghana Water Limited, contributing to national development and public service delivery.
In a communiqué announcing his decision, Alhaji Abdul Jalil outlined a vision centred on unity, dedicated service, effective leadership and electoral success.
He pledged to work towards strengthening party structures, deepening grassroots engagement and fostering cohesion within the NDC across the Northern Region.
His declaration adds to a long history of service within the party. Until 2020, he served as the Tamale South Constituency Treasurer, a position he held continuously from 2004, making him one of the longest-serving constituency executives in the area.
