New York Knicks forward Josh Hart has insisted he is not frustrated after the franchise postponed contract extension discussions until later in the season.
Hart said he remains under contract and is not letting the delay weigh on him. His focus, he says, is on helping New York retain its NBA title.
The forward also said he is enjoying life away from the court, which has helped him keep the situation in perspective.
Despite hoping to agree a new deal, Hart said the uncertainty over his future will not cost him any sleep. His relaxed attitude suggests he is content to let the process play out and keep his attention on the team’s pursuit of back-to-back championships.
The decision to push talks back means the matter is unlikely to be resolved before the season is well underway. For now, Hart’s priority is contributing to the defence of the title, with his long-term situation set to be revisited later in the season.
