Tamale, Ghana ~ Awuche, whose family had earlier indicated that his left leg would be amputated due to his medical condition, has received a major reprieve following a fresh medical assessment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).

This was disclosed by Rafik Mahama, who said he had engaged the management and medical team of the hospital on behalf of businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama after Awuche was admitted to the facility a few days ago.

According to Rafik Mahama, doctors at the Tamale Teaching Hospital conducted a thorough reassessment of Awuche’s condition and subsequently reviewed the proposed treatment plan.

“Following a detailed reassessment by the dedicated medical team at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Awuche’s left leg will not undergo amputation as was earlier announced by his family,” he stated.

The development brings renewed hope to Awuche, his family and supporters who had expressed concern over his condition and the possibility of losing the limb.

Rafik Mahama further assured the family of continued assistance from Ibrahim Mahama, noting that the businessman remains committed to supporting Awuche’s treatment and related medical expenses.

“On behalf of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, I wish to assure Awuche and his family of our continued support. Mr. Ibrahim Mahama remains committed to assisting with his medical care and covering the necessary expenses related to his treatment,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their concern and support, while commending the management and medical team of the Tamale Teaching Hospital for their dedication and professionalism in handling the case.

The statement concluded with well wishes for Awuche’s recovery, expressing hope that he will undergo successful treatment and return to good health.

The latest medical assessment marks a significant turnaround in Awuche’s situation and offers optimism for his recovery without the need for amputation.
